Subcommittees

Joining an Ad 2 DC committee is a great way to get further involved and stand out among your peers. Not to mention, it’s rewarding and a lot of fun! We have many different committees that run our organization and are looking for Ad 2 DC members to help. Below is a list and description of each of our committees.

Public Service

The Public Service Committee selects a non-profit organization within the D.C. metro area and acts as its pro-bono advertising agency for one year. The client will have access to the agency from July through May each year in anticipation of the annual National Ad 2 Public Service Competition. Depending on the non-profit’s needs, the committee develops and executes a full campaign for the year and/or plans a list of projects ranging from creative design to media planning and public relations.

Committee responsibilities can include:

  • Marketing
  • Strategy and branding
  • Account service
  • Event planning
  • Public relations
  • Media planning
  • Graphic design

Communications

The Communications Committee creates strategy and promotions for reaching prospects, members, students and the local community. It maintains and enhances the brand of Ad 2 DC.  The committee’s goal is to raise awareness of the organization, while helping all other committees get their messages out there.

Committee responsibilities include:

  • Branding and design for events/programs
  • Public relations and promotion strategy
  • Newsletter
  • Ad 2 DC Blog maintenance
  • Creating content related to the advertising industry, government relations, diversity and other hot topics
  • Design of Ad 2 DC marketing materials
  • Aiding other committees with creative needs

Membership

Out on the frontlines at every event, the Membership Committee works to show all members the value of their investment in Ad 2 DC. This committee gets the member base involved through activities and programs designed to enhance club membership recruitment, retention and involvement.

Committee responsibilities include:

  • Creating a membership drive
  • Recruiting potential members
  • Student/University outreach
  • Member engagement
  • Retaining members
  • Mentor opportunities

Programs and Events

Informative, entertaining programs and events are at the heart of Ad 2 DC’s dedication to its members. The Programs and Events Committee manages all programming and social events for Ad 2 DC and everything that comes with it—

from developing focused content in the areas of government relations, diversity and advertising education to total event planning and management.

Committee responsibilities include:

  • Planning programs and socials throughout the year
  • Programming focused on government relations, diversity, advertising education, and professional development
  • Brainstorming interesting topics
  • Recruiting speakers
  • Event planning and management
  • Working with the communications committee on deliverables
  • Sponsorships
