Privacy Policy

Because we gather certain types of information from our members and other users, we feel that it is important that you understand exactly what we do with your information. This privacy statement discloses what information we gather and how we use it. If you have questions about this document or our policies in general, please do not hesitate to contact us at [email protected].

All information on this page and throughout the registration process is supplied completely by the Advertising Club of Metropolitan Washington (the Ad Club). We do not ask for more personal information than is necessary to complete the registration process and to provide the best services possible.

1. Capture and Use of Information
Members
If you register online through the Ad Club's registration system, you will be asked to enter your contact and payment information. This information is used primarily to process your registration as accurately as possible. The Ad Club collects and securely stores all information that is entered during the registration process. The safety of your information is critical to the Ad Clubs success and therefore we will take many different technical precautions to ensure that all information is protected.

In the future we plan to implement a feature that will allow members to enter their email address (that is used as a login name) and a password. These unique identifiers will be different from every other user and will allow you access to various features. For instance, by entering this login and password in a login, you will have access to a section that is tailored towards your registration experiences and location. This will make it easier to track your enrollment status, make any changes in events or activities that you have registered for, receive up to the minute information including updates, driving directions, and dates and times for activities that are specific to you. Furthermore, the Ad Club will allow you to enter your unique login name and password at the top of every one of the Company's registration forms, which will automatically fill in all applicable information saving you time and hassle.

Cookies
"Cookies" are small pieces of information that are stored by your browser on your computer's hard drive. Generally, cookies work by assigning to your computer a unique number that has no meaning outside of our site. Most Web browsers automatically accept cookies, but normally, you will have the ability to edit your browser settings in order to prevent that. Not accepting cookies will not cause any of the features of the Ad Club's registration to be either non-accessible or less appealing.

2. Additional Uses of Information
When you register for a given activity, event, or any other registration-based organization, your information will be accessed just as if you had submitted a paper registration form and the ownership of that information is for the Ad Club to decide. All of the information we collect during the registration process is used to personalize your account, to customize our services and to allow our customer service representatives to contact you when necessary. The Ad Club reserves the rights to be able to use this information to customize our services and for contact information. We will honor any and all request not to share both registrants and organization information in any way shape or form. However, in most cases, information is used in an aggregated basis (meaning that the information from many Ad Club users is grouped together in a way that does not disclose the personal information of any particular user). We may use contact information that you provide to send you information about our organization and promotional material from some of our partners, unless you request that information not be sent to you. The Ad Club will disclose personal information about an individual user if we believe in good faith that such disclosure is necessary to comply with an applicable law or valid legal process.

3. Information Accuracy
The Ad Club is in no way responsible for the accuracy of a registrant's information. Therefore, if you enter information incorrectly, the Ad Club will process the information as entered.

4. Security
The Ad Club uses a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information. Credit card processing is completed in-house using P.O.S. Partners Software. Personal information collected on the Ad Club's registration program is stored in a secure operating environment that is not available to the public.

5. Protect Yourself
You can help to protect your information by keeping your password private and using caution and by learning more about privacy from various security Web sites.
